Hi Heather,

We, at DRES, are announcing this year’s Summer Paralympics Racing Camp for kids. The camp will last from June 2 - July 2, 2022. Due to the Pandemic this hasn’t been hosted at the University since 2019, so we’re excited to inform the Daily Illini.
Tatyana McFadden, our very own Paralympic athlete will attend the opening day to inspire and encourage our young athletes. Kids and parents alike will get a chance to interact and take pictures with her.
A little bit about McFadden:

• She trains at the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Service (DRES)
• She was among 20 Illini chosen for Team USA in the Paralympic Games Tokyo in 2020
• She’s extremely accomplished, having collected 17 medals, and has expressed a great desire to interact with young athletes

We believe this story would interest the student population and C-U community alike. We also highly encourage undergraduate students, especially, to volunteer as support to counselors for 1 credit hour over the summer. They would need to sign up for KIN 000.
